PowerPlay! Beyond School Grant Program
IAPD has developed a grant program designed to initiate and support beyond- school programs that focus on health, nutrition and fitness in park districts, forest preserves, conservation, recreation and special recreation agencies in Illinois. The program is funded by proceeds from the Park District Youth License Plate program and Friends of Illinois Parks. Agencies can apply for seed money to conduct a model beyond-school program or to enhance an existing program.
The Park District Youth License Plate
The Park District Youth License Plate acts as a “moving billboard” carrying the message that Illinois park districts, forest preserves, conservation, recreation and special recreation agencies benefit youth. Twenty-five dollars from the sale and subsequent renewal of each plate is placed into IAPD’s PowerPlay! Grant Program.
Summer Golf Tour: Tuesday, May 16; Monday, June 12; Monday, August 28; Monday, September 11
These outings provide great opportunities to learn about other agencies’ golf operations, network and enjoy a day with old friends and new acquaintances.
IAPD Leadership Classic - Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Bensenville Park District’s White Pines Golf Club
This special golf outing is for all park, recreation and conservation agency commissioners, directors and professional staff. Golfers are encouraged to invite local community leaders, representatives from area businesses and/or legislators for a day of networking. The IAPD Leadership Classic is an excellent opportunity to meet with those who contribute to the success of your agency in a recreational setting. The outing includes 18-holes of golf, lunch, dinner and opportunities to win prizes throughout the day.
